While we try to teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is about - author unknown

Fun at the Faklaris Park

When I went to get the camera - Abby had moved from the dome to the chair to enjoy her drink - too funny!
It's growing -smiley face! Our backyard park is getting larger....so much fun - smiley face. Chris worked for 2 hours this afternoon clearing space for the trampoline....the girls spent the entire time on the trampoline jumping/watching him work (so sweet!). They took a break every now & then to climb on the dome from Nana & Papa - thank you!

Ice Skating

Before we started skating....Lexy was so sweet, she wanted to wear her shirt with an ice skate on it today to go ice skating! We didn't think Hannah would go, but when we got there, someone gave us a free ticket so we thought she would enjoy it....which she did for about 10 mins - smiley face! Gma took pictures (which I'll have to download from her camera later - smiley face) and played with sweet Abby (who got a yummy treat that turned into treats for everyone when she fell).

The girls with Gma - showing off their treats - yum!

After ice skating, we played at the park for an hour or so...then Gma went to lunch with friends and we had lunch at CNN Center - it was a fun, fun day!!!!
We got coupons to ice skate at Centinnal Olympic Park last week at the puppet show...and thought it would be fun to take Lexy...she was pretty good for her first time - and Chris & I had fun remembering how to ice skate too - it has been a LONG time (my first job was at Stone Mtn Park's Ice Chalet - back in the DAY!)

Lights at Lake Lanier

After a dinner at Chris' favorite (Wild Wing Cafe) with Aunt Meredith & Uncle Tom, we had a blast enjoying the lights at Lake Lanier Islands with Gma and Mimi. Hannah fell asleep (too much fun on the trampoline that afternoon - smiley face) so she missed it all (sweet girl!!!) - while we enjoyed the fair at the end of the lights, Chris & I took turn sitting in the car with her. As we were getting ready to drive out of LLI, she woke up (seriously?!) so I made an illegal uTurn and we showed her the lights for the 12 days of Christmas (Lexy was thrilled - it's now her favorite song!).
Lexy driving the car - it was like the fair's version of Dumbo - smiley face

Chris' award winning photo - he seriously wants me to enter it into a contest - smiley face. It is adorable - I was in the car with Abby and he was clicking away (thank you daddy!)

Despite the fact that it was hours past her bedtime, Abby was having a BLAST (Lexy too - smiley face). They had sooooo much fun - Chris wants to make this an annual tradition.

Christmas at Stone Mtn Park

The girls with the Snow Angel (like Santa, Abby wouldn't sit on her lap either - smiley face)
Uncle Tom, Aunt Meredith, Gma and the girls (Daddy, Grandpa & Granny were waiting in line for the Kickin' Up Christmas show). It was a cute show - lots of Christmas carols. Lexy sang one of them when one of the performers gave her a mic - too sweet. During the parade, she wasn't interested in participating though....UNTIL Hannah started marching...not to be outdone, she joined in. They loved it - smiley face.
Our front row seats at Kickin Up Christmas
In front of the coca cola Christmas tree

Snow Mountain's entrance - we tried to watch the laser show, but it was too foggy to really see anything (so we enjoyed a train ride - after a LONG wait, thank goodness for the Bubbleman to entertain us a bit - instead!). Good call Gma & Granny on riding the indoor car - the seats were soft & warm for the fun, relaxing ride...smiley face!

Thanks Grandpa & Granny for treating to us to Stone Mountain's Christmas celebration...it was a fun LATE night - smiley face! Dinner of champions - Abby was adorable, Kettle Korn suits her well - smiley face!

Thankfulness

Our wall (or mirror - what you can see of it anyways - smiley face) of Christmas cards....we are blessed to have such love in our lives and have loved all that everyone shared with us this Christmas

I know I posted a lot in the past few hours as we've been watching a movie (Get Smart - pretty funny actually - smiley face) and b/c of that I'm sure I haven't given our wonderful Christmas holidays the thanks and appreciation that they deserve....we have had some fun, fun days and the girls have been adorable. Our life is really good and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family - immediate & extended - smiley face. While I can't believe 2009 is nearly here, I am looking forward to all it will bring...if it's half as amazing as this year - we will have a wonderful, wonderful life! Much Love - as always - Samantha

The day after.....

Aunt Meredith & Lexy
Abby & Daddy
Hannah w/ Granny & Grandpa

Hannah & Lexy showing us their puppet show

Aunt Meredith helping Abby

All 3 girls doing a puppet show....

We went to the Center for Puppetry Arts today and saw Sam the Lovesick Snowman. It was GREAT! Hannah had seen it before with her friend Jane Brooks - so she was cute warning us when the wolf was coming, etc....Abby was HILARIOUS b/c one of the snowmen in the show was named Abigail and everytime they said her name, Abby would say LOUDLY "that's my name"

Lunch afterwards at the Varsity (Grandpa's favorite)

It was snowing at Atlantic Station (not really - but the girls had fun playing in their bubble made snow - if only it hadn't been misty out they would have had their real snow show....we still had fun though!)

Chasing snow (the men were working on the snow blowers & the girls kept chasing them)

Merry Christmas!

The girls opening their stockings after they found their Santa gifts (notice they are in matching pjs - we didn't plan it - when Hannah put hers on at bedtime, she immediately ran into Lexy's room to say, Lexy put these on - who was running out of her room at the same time to tell Hannah to put them on - sooooo cute!). Santa gave Lexy a HSM microphone and movie AND a make up barbie head, Hannah a HM microphone and books AND a make up barbie head, & Abby a Mickey Mouse doll and movie AND coloring book
Mommy & Daddy gave the girls matching dresses for their American Girl Doll, Bitty Baby and Old Baby....they wanted to change into them

Hannah asked for a yellow biking jersey & shorts like Daddy's - he got the same outfit for Christmas too - smiley face!

After unwrapping about 2/3 of our gifts, Lexy glanced out the window and said "There's a jumpy in our backyard" - they finally saw Santa's big present outside (thank you to some neighbors for giving it to us and Uncle Tom, Daddy & Papa for putting it all together - smiley face)

Not really what I envisioned for our family photo on Christmas....but we got one - ha!

Abby was FUSSY so I had to get in their picture with Grandpa & Granny

The girls with Gma

Lexy, Kaia, Hannah & Sean

We tried & tried to get a picture of all the grandkids - convincing them to look at the ornaments on Nana & Papa's pretty tree finally did the trick - smiley face!

"Ho, ho, ho"

Emma & Abby

As we were getting ready to go to Nana & Papa's for Christmas dinner, I told Lexy that she had had a good Christmas and she replied "No mommy, this is the best Christmas" - so sweet!!!! And so true - it was wonderful to have our family here (we missed you Laura, Adam, Dana & Chris) together!!!! What a great Christmas celebration - smiley face!

Playdough Fun

Hannah was hillarious headbanging as she pounded her playdough out for the cookie cutters - what do we have in store in the years to come?!

The girls made playdough with Granny & Grandpa one afternoon while I ran errands and Chris was a work....red & green with sprinkles and mint flavoring - FUN!

Christmas Eve

Making cookies for Santa at Grandpa & Granny's condo while Santa's helpers (Daddy & Uncle Tom) work hard at home....

On our first Santa visit his helper gave the girls Reindeer food....we were sprinkling it in the yard so they could find our house that night....

Lexy sang during the first church service on Christmas Eve

Afterwards we enjoyed dinner at Aunt Meredith & Uncle Tom's with our family - YUM!
Cookies & Milk for Santa AND carrots, raisins & water for his reindeer (Hannah insisted on that b/c Ms O'Neill - her teacher - said they eat apples at her house)
