Hannah's Kindergarten Awards & Student of the Month

(slightly out of order - this happened before the end of season soccer - school ended Friday - smiley face).  Hannah's end of year awards ceremony in her class was this Wednesday.  Her teacher gave out cute candy awards and Hannah got the Kit Kat award for always being a good helper.  She is such a teacher pleaser - always wanting to do what she can to help out - so sweet!  She also received the Student of the  Month for May - RESPONSIBILITY.  So proud - smiley face!!!

Lexy's INCREDIBLE tournament

Lexy had a great team for her last tournament of the season - such a good group of girls - personally & skill level.  They started off strong with a 4-1 win Saturday morning.  Unfortunately Saturday afternoon they lost 0-3 (stinks b/c they controlled the ball the entire game...the other team just capitalized on all three opportunities it had to score).  Thankfully they were in a crazy division and the team they needed to win Sunday morning did - so they only needed a tie to go on to the championship game.  With less than 20 seconds left - Lexy scored a goal to give her team a 2-2 tie.  I think I screamed louder than anyone - I was so happy for her (she needed that goal and more importantly that feeling of confidence more than anything - it was the first goal she scored this spring season!).  Before her game we played three songs to pump her up - she now has a pregame ritual and wanted to listen to the songs before the championship in the exact same order....LMFOA's Party Rock, Taio Cruz' Dynamite and only half of Maroon 5s Moves Like Jagger...just like her daddy (he always listened to We Will Rock You & We Are The Champions before his games)!!  So sweet.  That afternoon they played the same team for the championships (a team they had played three other times during the year - Lexy knew the girls & they were a TALENTED bunch).  They won the game 2-1 - Lexy scored both goals.  Pure excitement and well deserved smiles!

Hannah's last games/first tournament

Hannah's team was equally as dominate this season.  Coach Chris often had them playing without a goalie and a man or two down on the field, or sometimes let some of our girls play for our opponents to even out the abilities.  They had a great season and were excited to play in their first tournament.  Saturday, morning they lost their first game 1-3 but it was a close game that could have gone either way.  They won their second game that afternoon (yippee Hannah for scoring a few goals).  They had to win their third game against a tough team on Sunday morning to go to the championships - they lost 2-4 but Hannah dominated.  So proud of our girls and their coach - smiley face!

Abby's last game of the season

Thank you Nana for snapping these pictures on your phone - I was at Lexy's tournament game while Daddy was coaching Abby's team.  Big win (16-1) to end the season and six goals scored by Abby - wow!  Abby's team was so dominate this season, coach Chris often  had them play 4 against 6 to even out the abilities....smiley face

End of Season Soccer celebrations

Soccer season is nearly over...Friday night after practice (we had to have them early b/c of a tournament this weekend both Lexy & Hannah are playing in) Abby's team celebrated with trophies and yummy soccer cupcakes.  They had nearly an undefeated season w/ only one loss.  Abby was a scoring machine - impressing us immensely with her soccer skills - she often scored 5+ goals - WOW!.  That same night, after Hannah's practice her team and everyone's families enjoyed pizza, cookie cake & trophies at Gala's pizza.  Hannah too had a great season, impressing us with her on field domination.  Fun & crazy night.  Sunday afternoon, after the tournament's championship game (in which Lexy showed us how talented she is!), Lexy's NASA team came back to the Branches pool for a party.  The girls loved playing with the soccer beach balls (thank you Gma), jumping off the diving board and enjoying pizza, watermelon & cake.  It was a fun, fun weekend to culminate another GREAT season of soccer.  So proud of our girls.

ZBB

It's starting to be a Mother's Day/Father's Day tradition.  Last year on Father's Day weekend Chris & I went to Verizon Ampitheater to see Zac Brown Band in concert.  This year Missy & Jason asked us to join them at Lakewood Ampitheater for the concert...it was a fun date night (even as it occassionally sprinkled rain and ZBBs friends went on an instrumental tangent from their songs we know & love) - smiley face.

sweet Abs

I snapped this picture of Abby in my beach hat - Lexy took it to school that day (her teacher did a fun thing for the last 30 days of school - their class popped a ballon every day to see what the next day's treat was - anything from no shoes in the classroom, popsicles, game day, etc....it happened to be HAT day)

Happy 12+1 Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Chris!  My superstitious husband was so excited when he opened his annual cookie cake to see it didn't say 13 on it, instead 12+1 - smiley face.  So glad we know each other so well.....I can't imagine my life without you by my side.  You are the most patient, funny, energetic, loving person and it's such a blessing to not only call you my husband, but also hear our three sweet girls call you daddy.   Looking forward to 12 plus 100  more celebrations - smiley face.  I love you!  (and love the orchid too - he said our house was full of flowers (gardinias & hydrangas from our yard, Abby's recital bouquet and Mothers Day roses) so he wanted to get something different -  smiley face).  Thanks to Gma for watching the girls so we could enjoy a nice dinner out at Flemings - yum!

Abby's Y5s end of year performance and graduation

Bittersweet!  Our baby is graduating from preschool....so proud of her and excited for her to start kindergarten but at the same time can't believe we are moving on to the next chapter in our lives - our girls are so grown up.  She has loved preschool and absolutely flourished.  She's made such good friends and loved everything from kindergym and music to chapel and art.....DUMCP has been a part of our lives for 9 years.  Congratulations Abby - our future "ballet teacher" as she said during graduation that she wants to be when she grows up - smiley face
