Goofy girls waiting for their turn to go into the game....they were sitting on the floor with their legs on the bench....Chris snapped this photo. They dominated their neighbors & fellow daisys with a high scoring game of over 70 to 33 - eeks!
Lexy's team also dominated their game that afternoon...they won 14-2 (the other team finally scored with 1 second left). Wow!
We have some good teams for our girls filled with lots of friends - smiley face!
Lexy's persuasive letters
Lexy is writing persuasive letters in school. She has been bringing home letters between her & her teacher all week (they have classroom jobs and get paid for them - Lexy has been trying to convince her teacher she needs a raise - so cute!).
Today she brought these home - with homemade envelopes too....so sweet!!! Not sure they are going to happen, but she's definitely learning persuasion well - smiley face!!! And she cracks us up about our housekeeper too - life is way too good for these girls, huh? haha! We have been trying to convince Chris to get a Wii for the Let's Dance game....but someone in his office told us the Xbox is so much better - and Lexy is obsessed with it (she was there selling girl scout cookies).....smiley face
Dear Mom,
I would love to have my ears pierced. If I had my ears pierced I would be more mature and I would take care of my ears and my earrings. I would also make my bed every morning (except when Rosa comes). So pretty please can I have my ears pierced?
Dear Dad,
Can we please get xbox 360 connect? It is great exercise and we can do it as a family. Also you aer the controller so we don't have to hold a remote.
Shopping w/ Hannah
I tutor a boy in Hannah's class one day a week...and when I'm finished I have started taking Hannah with me - we get out of there by 2pm (Lexy comes home with our carpool) and have to go get Abby from ballet at 2:30 so we have a little time to kill....sometimes we come home and other times we run a quick errand - this week we went to Cost Plus World Market and Hannah went crazy wanting everything she saw (futon, rugs, toys...but she had to have her picture taken in this chair w/ netting above it so Daddy could see what she really wants). That girl likes to shop!
Playing Basketball....
"Basketball is my favorite sport - I love the way you dribble up and down the court"
Chris taught the girls this song & all four of them sing it all the time....
Sat night Chris assembled this basketball goal and the girls were so excited to play before church on Sunday....fun! (yes, we are a multi driveway sport family - that's a tennis net, soccer goals and now a bball hoop)!
Chris, who was weary about bball at first (he didn't want the girls to have a new favorite sport - nor feel like they had to be good at something else - smiley face) is now thrilled about it (he never misses their practices)! He said one night this week, after playing with the girls in the dark (thank goodness for our street light in the backyard) - they started playing bball and ended w/ soccer - that sweet Lexy was so much more asssertive & aggressive playing soccer now....bball is teaching her to be faster too. YIPPEE!

Bedroom Redos....
We had a lowkey weekend planned (well - Faklaris family lowkey - we still had two bball games and a swim meet on Sat - but it was rainy and "we" (me - smiley face) decided to do things around the house, check things off "our" to do list - ha ha). I thought it would be good to give Abby Lexy's bunk beds and move the full bed back into Lexy's room - she has to have someone fall asleep with her every night and it just makes sense for that to happen in a big bed, rather than having Chris or I squish in a twin with her or have her fall asleep in our bed...and attempt to move her.....so I suggested it & the girls were thrilled (except for Hannah - she says she wants a trundle bed for her bday and her room painted blue....not saying yes to that yet! She has the most comfy bed in the house! And I adore her pink room - smiley face. We'll see....).
I love that Lexy has her antique bedframe back in her room now - and Abby absolutely LOVES the bunk bed - she has slept in it every night this week. Both rooms are so much more spacious again - smiley face.
These pix are from the first night....Abby started out in the top bunk but Hannah pouted b/c that's where she wanted to sleep (see the pix of Hannah in our bed) so sweet Abby moved to the bottom for her (and ended up falling out of the bed in the middle of the night - poor girl but it does happen to her more times than we can count).
Daddy is Hannah's class mystery reader
They assured me that Hannah was much happier to have him read than this picture reflects....smiley face
100th Day of School
Hannah's class had a big celebration for the 100th day of school (Lexy told us that her teacher said second graders don't have celebrations like that anymore - they have too much school work - too funny, but true - although we know her teacher is so incredible they do lots of fun things too!). We went to school and had lunch with the girls that day (their request!). We even counted out 100 chocolate candies to bring for each of them....I snapped these pix of Chris w/ the girls at lunch - smiley face
Snow Mountain
We enjoyed our season passes to Stone Mountain for the first time...Chris took half a day off and we went sledding - it was so much fun we can't wait to go back again. We all had a ball going on the family run and the individual ones - smiley face
Abby
Abby just asked me in carpool " mommy can you hear GOd?" I said yes & she said " when I say my prayers I can't hear him"...I told her we don't hear him like we hear each other but thru our heart...he answers our prayers thru how we feel...he influences how we feel & let's us know if what we are doing is good or bad/right or wrong....
she's so sweet - smiley face!

MLK sleepovers
The girls all had sleepovers MLK weekend....smiley face! More fun times with sweet girls & their friends (and yes - Lexy & Kate had a bed switcharoo b/c they wanted to be closer....awww!)
Girl Scout Kidnap Breakfast
The girls had a ball at the girl scout kidnap breakfast. This was Lexy's Brownie troops second time participating and Hannah's first. She was a little confused at first when someone knocked on our door to "kidnap" her at 8am to go...what a fun morning filled with songs, skits, crafts and DONUTS! Lexy's troop received the award for the "most sugary" and Hannah's for the "jumpiest". That actually describes our energetic girls to a tee....ha ha!
Mistakes...awww!
awww...Hannah came home with this from school this week. We didn't make a big deal of her accidentally breaking one of our wisemen from the nativity over break - thankfully we were able to superglue it back together too. Thought it was sweet that she shared this in class....smiley face
New Year's Resolutions
Love this...Lexy did this at school! I had to share...so sweet. We are now trying to work a trip to DC in our plans for the year - smiley face! I guess we'll skip NYC this spring break and try to make it there (although Chris wants to take Lexy there for his daddy/daughter trip but I want to go too - ha ha!). Love that city & want to experience it with our family together.
Basketball Stars
The girls had their first bball games and did AMAZING. Who knew they would do so well?! Both girls team's dominated! (I thought they would have scores of 8-10 - Hannah's age group plays half court w/ lower nets and at half time they let every girl take two shots and add that to the total score if they make it - nice b/c it gives everyone a chance to contribute - their final score was 62-51. Lexy's was full court and much more intense...they had a ref who called fouls and everything. Her score was 20-8. And both girls were impressive - Hannah was LOVING it and a rebounding and scoring machine! Both girls have their height to their advantage. Lexy was all about positions - she listens so well and always wants to make sure she's in the right place - which helps her with the rebounds. She told me on the way to her swim meet (which was IMMEDIATELY after her game - talk about hard working girls!!!) that she had so much fun, but doesn't know all she's supposed to do - I told her it's more than okay - that was her first game EVER and she has her whole life to learn. She did great!!!
Sweet Abby would love to play too...but her friends are on a team that practices on Monday nights & that just wouldn't work for our swim team schedule, so we told her she'd have to wait until next year when she's in Kindergarten...she's okay w/ it - smiley face
Note....My camera lens are being repaired (yahoo - so glad I didn't settle & listen to wolf camera telling me to just buy new ones - found a very inexpensive alternative in Marietta - smiley face - so excited!) so I'm taking all my photos this month w/ my iPhone - I know they aren't the best quality but I'll get some good ones soon - bball season goes through Feb!
Go Auburn?!
Hannah told us this week that she's going to be a basketball player at Auburn University! Thanks Aunt Dana for that influence...she's even converted her friend who's parents are DIE HARD UGA fans....look out - she'll do anything to get our goat, huh?! Basketball and Auburn?! gotta just smile and love it! I did think it was hilarious though that she made this pix and posed for a photo all while supporting the gamecocks - haha!
