Roswell Puppet Show

Every summer the roswell cultural arts center hosts a different puppet show each week - we try to make it to a few of them and enjoyed our first one this week....An Arabian Adventure

American Adventures

Our summer outings have begun....the girls had a ball and they changed ownership this year so it was like we had our own little park...Aunt Mimi and the Whiting family joined us this afternoon....I even snuck Abby on the swings (she didn't meet that height requirement) and she LOVED it - they all had sooooooo much fun (and some of their favorites from last summer weren't even working - Lexy said "even though the roller coaster is my favorite, I have a new favorite today" - it was cute!)

Hannah's favorite outfit....

If this outfit is clean, it's the first one Hannah choses and begs Lexy to wear it too (the girls know how if we have matching outfits, I like them to wear them together so I don't have to worry about one being dirty when I want them...I know, I'm so OCD it's scary!). Too funny....

VBS - Surfin through the Scriptures

The theme this year was Beach Party - and Lexy and Hannah sing the songs EVERY day (and Lexy does the sign language to most of them too - that girl is like a sponge!). They had such a fun time...I was a guide for Lexy's class again (it's your turn next year Hannah and Abby's will come in a few years - smiley face) and just loved it! It was so neat how they had missions (and did bags each day for local kids who go without), art, music, storytelling and gym each day! It's amazing how much I learned about the bible from their experiences. Truly a fun week!

Cant's sleep...Daddy's out of town

I caved this night and let them fall asleep on the couch while I was paying bill, doing tennis lineups and working on my laptop in the other room....

Swimming with the Barrett Girls

Haircut time....

Hannah and her favorite funny face....these days!

What it takes to go to the pool....

Okay - I know I'm an over packer (smiley face) but with three girls and a husband who meets us there from work for dinner - it takes a lot...luckily I have help. Here's two girls (Lexy's probably already in the water - she's speedy when she wants to swim - smiley face) and all the stuff it takes to get to the pool....

Pool Fun!

We have FISH for daughters - come summer time, that's all they want to do - so nearly EVERY day we are at the pool in our neighborhood (or on the days when it's closed for a swim or dive meet we head up to the Alpharetta YMCA to enjoy their fun, outdoor, amazing pool). Lexy is jumping off the high diving board and swimming laps (she's ready for swimteam - just a few months too young - next year). Hannah taught herself to swim and can really hold her own...she's also going off the low dive and swimming in the pool as much as the lifeguards let her (she's dying when it's adult swim!). Abby is FEARLESS - she just jumps into the pool and hopes you are paying attention to catch her (I remember Hannah doing this last year so does that mean I'll have another self taught swimmer soon? smiley face). She will splash, splash, splash if you tell her to paddle and wants to be thrown up and down in the water until your arms are shaking - smiley face. It really is fun to be in the water - and I'm so glad the girls love it and we are able to enjoy it. We eat at least one meal a day down there...but somehow I got lucky and never have to deal with re-applying sun tan lotion b/c we either have to come home early for naptime or get there late b/c of naptime - one application is enough for me...smiley face!

Laptop Time

Our philosophy on computers is the girls are probably going to use one for the rest of their lives, so they really don't need to play computer games now - we want them to play, play, play (and of course read some books and color some pictures too - smiley face) now when they are young. However from time to time I do let Lexy play a game or two on pbskids.org (and her's a picture of her showing Hannah & Abby what she created while they were napping).

Abby gets a big girl bed!

After giving Lexy the bunk beds, it was time to move Abby to a big girl bed - the next day we transformed her room with Lexy's old (which are really not old - just a few years - is that bad that the third child is getting recycled goods? smiley face) linens and mattress (her crib was a three in one so we used her furniture and put Lexy's antique things in the basement)....at first Abby wasn't sure about it - but our 5am alarm clock has now been sleeping until 7am (dare I type this and jinxx it? smiley face). We ended up putting the bed rails on it - since it's just a full bed, we felt better doing so (we used the bed rails for Lexy but not Hannah - she's in a queen and wow does she love her bed - lexy tried to convince her the bottom bunk was for Hannah and she would lay in it for a minute or two then head back to her comfy cozy bed...smiley face).

Bunk Beds

Lexy has been asking to have a PURPLE room - we said when she was five she could have that and Daddy even told her she could have bunkbeds (which she's wanted since we visited the Stoll's lakehouse in Jan) - we broke down and got her half of her bday present early...(you can see the walls are still green - aunt meredith said she would spoil us and paint this summer - I just need to get the paint - smiley face). The girls have had so much fun playing in them....and as nervous as I was about it - Lexy is really good about taking the ladder down so Abby can't climb up if I'm not in there (something Abby LOVES to do - she wants to be on the top bunk like her sisters!!!). It has been a great early bday present...smiley face. This is from the first night we got them...before the comforters and decor had arrived, but it shows three wet heads who are thrilled (and tired) to be enjoying them....
