While we try to teach our children about life, our children teach us what life is about - author unknown

Abby can tie her own shoes!!!

And double knot them too!!!  Sweet Abs learned to tie her shoes this  week - all by herself.  She's been in a tumbling camp at the church this  week while  Lexy & Hannah are in school and another girl in camp  knows how to tie her shoes & apparently taught Abby - she showed us all last night - IMPRESSIVE.  I don't think Lexy learned until right  before she went into kindergarten  (nearly a year away still for Abby) and we just bought Hannah some new "no tie" laces for her shoes for their upcoming triathlon.....go Abby!!!  (Daddy & the girls made brownies to celebrate...any excuse for brownies - ha ha!)

Happy 40th Shannon

A few of us celebrated Shannon's 40th birthday with  a delicious dinner (thank you Susan) at a beautiful home (thank you Kristen)....love having  wonderful friends to share our lives with - smiley face!

Lemonade Stand

Lexy went to soccer  practice & Hannah was looking for a playdate or treasure  hunt...instead I suggested a lemonade stand & they were over the moon excited!  The girls were lucky & it was curriculum night at Austin Elem so the moms were driving by in droves - we were out there for an hour and they made almost $20 - impressive at $.50/cup - smiley face.  Fun times, sweet girls!

Lexy's first soccer tournament of the season....

New soccer club (NASA) and a great start.....Lexy's team went to the finals in her first soccer tournament of the season - she scored a goal in the first two games on Saturday.  They won 6-0, 6-0, 3-0 and lost in the finals to another team from their  same club.  Thanks to Gma, Nana & Papa for  coming to support her - we are so proud & excited about all that she's learning with her new coaches - smiley face

1st day of school - Hannah goes to kindergarten & Lexy starts 2nd grade

Woodland goes to Hartwell

We were each others comic relief throughout the charter writing process in the spring/summer - luckily our families love one another - we had a blast at the lake for the day....smiley face

End of Summer Tradition.....

We were a smaller group this year b/c Dekalb county had already gone back to school, but we still had a ball....our traditional end of summer picnic & playtime at the Olympic Rings in Centennial Park was so much fun!

Hannah & her moods.....

Hannah has been having some pretty serious mood swings lately....the littlest thing will  set her  off....I snapped this picture & typed up what she was saying  on a bike ride in St Augustine and sent this email to Chris.....

"I hate bike rides, I hate purple bikes, I hate princesses. You made me go on a stupid far bike ride. I didn't even like it. I'm never listening to you again & I'll remember that. I'm so mad at you"

Omg seriously?! I was going to go for a walk by myself & Judy mentioned bike riding & Hannah said she'd go...we literally went around the circle & at least 10 neighbors must have seen her screaming all that & so much more at me
Lexy was so insightful today w her comment " if Hannah doesn't get her way she makes it miserable for everyone else & even if it's something she wants to do but you said something different she's so stubborn she won't"...this was before today's incident also

As parents we want what's best for our children but sometimes they make it so hard for us to give it to them - smiley face

St Augustine

It was a short, but  fun trip - even without Daddy (he had to work in NYC) and the afternoon storms (it rained every afternoon) we still had a ball at the beach with our new boogie boards.  Thanks for a great time Grandpa & Granny!
