Hannah is trying new things....

A few months ago Hannah complained about dinner.  I was making something delicious for Chris, Lexy and me (I've been trying new recipes from Publix and Pinterest a lot lately) - but one of the few meals that Hannah & Abby eat (mac & cheese, quesedillas, sandwiches, etc).  I told her how much more variety she would have if she just took the time to try what we are eating - and that Daddy, Lexy and I didn't like to eat gross stuff - the things we have are delicious.  Since then - I have been so proud of her - she's trying new things!!!  She may not like them all but at least she's venturing out and taking a bite or two of them.   FINALLY.  Now if we can only get Abby to understand this reasoning!!!  smiley face

Although the other day at Moe's we were eating lunch and Abby wasn't eating well so Hannah was trying to encourage her and Abby retorted with "well at least I eat tomatos" - words I never thought I'd hear, but so true.  Hannah only eats a cheese quesedilla when we go there and Abby eats a full burrito - thank you Moe's for getting nutritious food in our sweet Abs occassionally - smiley face

4 Angels Lemonade Stand

Tonight when I opened my mail there was an envelope from UPS addressed to "4 angels".

The girls had their makeshift lemonade stand today (I say makeshift b/c I had hardly any lemonade supplies) and their was a jogger going by (Abby was inside by this point b/c she was tired & Caralee had left a few minutes earlier for her swim lesson) and the girls were chanting their sales pitch "lemonade, orange juice, Popsicles" (remember it was makeshift - haha) and I said "girls, when I'm out walking I don't usually have any money with me - you should offer him a drink just to be kind" - he was our parents age and totally struggling up the hill to our house. He was delighted with their lemonade offer and drank it down/eating the ice cubes too. He said he'd put some money in our mailbox later - I told him that wasn't necessary but to enjoy the rest of his run......and thanks for stopping.

We'll this is what his note said...it is on UPS stationary

To 4 Angels

Thank you for the wonderful glass of lemonade today. I was very thirsty and there you were, right in the middle of my six mile run. I wish you all the best with your lemonade stand business. Have fun and enjoy your summer.

The UPS Man

PS This money is for you to share, you can buy some lemonade supplies or just get something you like

Enclosed with it was $20

So sweet.....we'll bring your girls $5 so they can get something for themselves....but I thought that was beyond nice of this gentleman who we'll most likely never see again....smiley face. An incredible act of kindness and one that will bring a smile to my girls faces tomorrow when I share it with them....smiley face

Puppet Show

Thanks to the Dunkerley's for inviting the girls to join them for Sleeping Beauty.  Lexy couldn't go b/c we had a dive lesson to get her ready for championships on Monday - but Hannah & Abby had a ball - s miley face.  We love this summer tradition at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center

Alpharetta Y pool fun

Daddy had a suggestion that we meet him at the Alpharetta Y for some diving, sliding and swimming fun after VBS (but before the dive meet - since the girls have missed morning practices this week b/c of vbs)....they had a fun time (and Lexy got a little emotional about her front flip - but the next day she NAILED it - so  proud of our girls!).  We love changing it up from our neighborhood pool and seeing daddy in the middle of the day for lunch too - what a treat!

an afternoon with Aunt Dana & Nana

some makeovers, mani/pedis - thanks for spending the afternoon with us - we had a blast - smiley face

The things daddy does for his girls....

After falling asleep in the car on the way home from the lakehouse - the girls were rewarded with a trip to Five Below.  Abby picked out makeup and sweet Daddy let her put eye swirls on him....awwwww or ha ha?!

Please daddy!

Shopping at costco - the girls wanted matching bears (Abby has "paige" already - but now Hannah REALLY wants a light brown one for her bday - she's already picked out a name for it).  Their argument "it's only $30"....sigh!

VBS

Oh oh oh - Operation Overboard!  Another great (and exhausting - haha) week of fun!  Vacation Bible School at DUMC.  Lexy's last VBS ever - it only goes through rising 3rd graders.  It was the first time I was a guide for Abby and her friends.  Fun times - the girls LOVED the science experiments - smiley face

Father's Day weekend at the lake

Couldn't say no to the girls when we were shopping for the weekend and we spotted this brownie bite cake at Publix - could it be more perfect for Chris?!  soccer ball and brownies!
An evening boat right with Aunt Dana, Nana & Papa...we enjoyed having them spend the night

And after a bath, a little pedi for the girls - thanks Aunt Dana
YUM!  Happy Father's Day - a kitkat/M&M chocolate chip cake - sugar overdose thanks to Pinterest - smiley face (it was mistaken for a candy dish more than once - haha)
